At Pitchplaylists, we’re committed to making the Spotify playlist submission free experience more seamless, fair, and impactful for both artists and curators. You may have already noticed a new value under the Your Statistics section on your dashboard. Today, we’re excited to officially introduce this new feature – Genre Mismatch Points – designed to ensure submissions stay relevant and better aligned with each playlist’s genre expectations.
What Are Genre Mismatch Points?
When you use our Spotify playlist submission free system, it’s important to match your track with the right playlist. If a curator flags your submission as not matching the genre of their playlist, you may now receive a Genre Mismatch Point.
But don’t worry – these points aren’t permanent! They are simply a way to encourage more thoughtful submissions and keep the quality of the platform high for everyone.
How Does It Work?
When you submit a song to a playlist, curators will now see a new button labeled “Not a genre fit for my playlist” next to the usual Accept and Decline options. Here’s what happens when this button is used:
- 🎯 If a curator marks your track as not matching their playlist’s genre, you may receive a Genre Mismatch Point on your account.
- ✅ Each point is reviewed and confirmed by us – Pitchplaylists Team before it becomes active.
- ⏳ Every point automatically expires after 21 days, so they won’t stay on your record forever.

This feature allows us to preserve the integrity of the Spotify playlist submission free model by ensuring that playlists remain consistent and artists submit thoughtfully.
What Happens If You Accumulate Points?
To help encourage accurate submissions, we’ve added some submission limitations based on your active mismatch points:
- If you accumulate 10 active Genre Mismatch Points, your submission limit will be reduced to 10 credits per week for 30 days.
- If you reach 15 or more active points, your limit drops to just 5 credits per week for the same 30-day period.
This is designed to give users a chance to reset and focus on making more accurate submissions, not to punish anyone.
Why We Introduced This Feature
We believe that Spotify playlist submission free platforms should be based on quality over quantity. Curators spend time building carefully crafted playlists, and when they receive off-genre tracks, it disrupts their flow and wastes time for everyone involved, especially the artist.
The Genre Mismatch Points feature ensures:
- Better matches between tracks and playlists
- Improved approval rates for artists
- Less time wasted by curators
- A healthier submission ecosystem overall
Tips to Avoid Genre Mismatch Points
Want to make the most of your Spotify playlist submission free experience without running into this issue? Here are a few tips:
- 🎧 Listen to the playlist before submitting. This seems obvious, but it’s the best way to understand the playlist’s vibe.
- 📜 Read the playlist’s description – many curators specify what they’re looking for.
- 🏷️ Review the genre tags on playlists and make sure they truly align with your track’s style and the overall theme of the playlist.
- ❌ Avoid “shotgun submissions” where you send your track to every possible playlist, regardless of genre.
Following these steps helps maintain the integrity of the Spotify playlist submission free ecosystem and ensures better outcomes for your music.
In Summary
The new Genre Mismatch Points system is a key update to help artists get better results and help curators maintain the quality of their playlists. We’re committed to keeping Spotify playlist submission free and useful and this feature helps make sure that every submission is relevant, genre-matched, and worth listening to.
Keep making great music, be intentional with your submissions, and as always, thank you for using Pitchplaylists, your home for quality Spotify playlist submission free tools.
Stay tuned for more updates, and remember, success comes from submitting smarter, not just more often. If you have any questions or suggestions for improvement, feel free to reach out to us or join our Discord server to connect with the community!
